Description
Enacting Traces is the debut album by Eleni-Ira Panourgia. A creation developed from original sound recordings of live performances of sculpture making with steel and live electronics. Resulting from a process of recombination and transformation of sounds produced by physical actions on materials, welding and grinding machines, and electronics, this album presents sound as a material trace. Across six tracks, micro events and sustained forces negotiate the space between continuity and discontinuity, the static and the ephemeral, the spatial and the temporal. Enacting Traces guides us through an immersive material journey in sound, which invites the mind to constantly re-adjust and re-focus.
